No tuna or WSB for the boat but yellowtail city
Spectre dive boat, stayed at once location due to conditions
Conditions have slacked off significantly from the weekend. visibility is spotty, but if you work for it, you can find some really decent pockets up to twenty feet, but I didn't see anything beyond that.
Best day I have ever seen!
Calm, flat conditions at the shores with some more moderate surge near the marine room and reef area.
Got to see a small sailboat wreck, so that was pretty cool. The vessel's name is Alleycat. Vis was slightly worse than meeks bay, and a little chillier. The beach is large pebbles, lake was still sand though.
It's like diving in a glass of water and it's about as interesting lmaoooo, super calm. Fun place for beginners and to just practice skills in a low-stakes, high-vis open-water environment.
Very murky leading up to the point but then it clears! Beautiful in the
The inside of the cove was nice and calm, surgy further out. The sandy shallows at the shores had great visibility but not further south near the reef or MR.
Short Swim so no catches today...
Incredible visibility at lovers cove. Warm water too, 70 degrees.
Went spearfishing with @NauticalNick in Catalina at Pebbly Beach. The kelp forest died off because of the warmer waters and so there weren't many fish. However, the visibility was great. I got lucky and came across a lone yellowtail that I was able to spear.
Casino Point was beautiful. The visibility was incredible. However, the el nino caused the whole kelp forest to die off. Seriously, all gone. Nada. In order, saw a calico with a fish tail sticking out of its mouth, a nice male sheephead, a giant kelpfish, a yellowtail carcass, and then a moray eel eating said carcass.
Went snorkeling today. While water was a bit milky and the waves were a bit choppy, the visibility was decent enough.
I just swam around to check the visibility. Trying to calibrate the algorithm better. Had a good time at the beach with @boatridingseaweed. Perfect weather, warm water!!!
crystal clear, slight wind, warm water and beautiful day. waves were kind of choppy tho. the kelpantor got NO action.
The first mistake was going at low tide. I couldn’t get past the reef. The second mistake was going on a day when the waves were too big, which caused the water to be super murky and full of sediment.
